Saying Goodbye to Aladdin... For Now.

Well, I after 16 months on tour with a dream show, I said "Goodbye" to the National Touring company of Disney's Aladdin last month. Now, I know what you're thinking.."last month?!?!?", well, yes. I won't deny the fact that I had a lot of fun with the cast and crew of that show. We spent months in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Denver just to name a few of the cities! And of course I spent my fair share of down time touring and exploring all of the exciting and interesting things those cities had to offer!

But, at the end of the day, the show businessman in me knew that I had actually signed up for a 16 month preparation course. You see, booking a job for an artist isn't only about making money and paying off student loans. Each job is about booking the NEXT job and we never know where that's going to come from. So with that in mind I packed my bags, started tour, and started looking for the next gig.

A month after returning home from tour I've finally got a moment to sit down and write, and I couldn't be more excited! I came off of tour in arguably one of the slowest times to find work in New York as an actor. Summer contracts have already gone out, most upcoming broadway shows are already cast and workshopping if not in previews, and the winter show auditions won't start for a couple more months. So here I am, a lone artist, returning to NYC with only myself, a plan, and a lot of optimism to rely on to find work and for once, everything seemed to be perfectly timed.

Now, in an effort to retain and build some intrigue, I won't go into detail just yet about what exactly I've been doing, I need to have some writing material for future posts after all. I will say that while I have not yet booked the next gig, I am SO excited to see where things go from here! My plans so far are sprouting faster than I had ever imagined and my ability to connect and interact with some major power players in the industry is giving me life!

Next on my plate is my official foray into Voice Over! After months of work and coaching I've finally received my first VO demo and I couldn't be more excited! This is something I've been wanting to do for many years and I can't wait to see where it leads!

As a first post this one has definitely run long and in many different directions. If you made it all the way through, bless you. If you're as excited as I am to see what comes next, join the club! I want these posts to not only reflect the news and accomplishments of my business life. I also want it to be an inspiring insight into the life and decisions of a real person navigating the unknown.
